Last Night in Soho (2021)

A mind bending mystery with an underlying ghostly theme. The story centers around Ellie, an innocent girl from the country side that travels to London to pursue her life long dream of becoming a big time fashion designer. Ellie carries with her two special gifts, one is a keen eye for clothing style and the other is being able to see and hear things that others can’t. She seems like a jovial young girl who loves music from the 60’s. She often sees the ghost of her mom when she is about to receive good news. When she first arrives to London she is terrified. Her first night there turns out to be a bit rough, people are mean, and she feels like an outsider.

So she decided to rent a room from a sweet old lady instead of hanging out with the rough crowd at the dorm. It sort of reminded me of my days when I first arrived to live in Manhattan. I rented a room from a sweet old lady with a dog. What could possibly go wrong? That is where she begins to to fantasize that she is back in the 60’s posing as a blonde beauty named Sandy. That is where she meets Jack, the manager of a trendy club who has the power to make her a star.

Ellie can see and hear things that others can’t. her grandmother knows about her gift. Suddenly she finds herself trapped in a life that is not her own with a man that seemed like a dream in the beginning and then turns abusive. She was introduced to the night life as a performer but instead he is pimping her up. A lonely girl living in London in a dangerous city. Taken advantage by the man that she trusted.

Ellie sees so much but does not know what to do with that information. Will she be able to save Sandy on time? You’ll have to wait until the end to find out!
