Perfect Storm

It was hotter than ever

or so I thought

Colors came alive

And the air smelled sweeter

So, I stayed for a while

You felt like sunshine

I could not get enough

Was it love? Of what kind?

I bathed in your light

Away from my shadows

Until the intensity unlocked the past

Clouding the present

A cold gust filled the air

And condensed feelings

Came gushing down my cheeks

The sunshine was gone

Caught in the whirlwind

Unable to breath, I felt alone

So, I soaked in the rain

Until the rainbow brought hope
